Vacation Bible School
Every July we hold a one-week Vacation Bible School for children through grade 6. In 2011, the theme was Inside Out and Upside Down on Main Street. We had over 60 attendees during the week, with average attendance each day of 50. The children rotated through Interactive Bible Study, Crafts, Recreation, and Science Discovery activities. All hands meetings at the start and end of every day included a short skit and group singing.
Peach Festival and
Govier Memorial AutoShow
Our Annual Peach Festival is held in August. We serve peach pies, peach shortcake, and other picnic foods in outdoor tents. Activities include entertainment, this year by the Good News Blues gospel blues band, face painting, children's games, and a bake sale. In conjunction with the festival, we sponsor the Bill Govier Memorial Auto Show, this year hosting over 30 classic automobiles. The afternoon continues to be a time of fun and fellowship involving not only our church family but also the surrounding neighborhood.
Harvest Dinner
On October 29, 2009, a carry-in dinner was held marking the end of our year of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the dedication of the church building. With much food and an inspirational talk from our own Joann Fields on her missionary trip to Kenya, the event appropriately celebrated our fellowship with each other and our connection to Christian outreach around the world.
