The Prebyterian Church assigns responsibility for all decisions about church operations to the Session, ordained elders elected by the congregation from among their membership.  One of those decisions is the calling of a Minister of the Word and Sacrament and other staff members.  First Presbyterian is blessed with a truly dedicated paid and volunteer staff.

Sue is a second career Minister of the Word and Sacrament, having spent 30 years as a high-school English and Drama teacher in South Carolina and Virginia.  Responding to a call to the ministry, she retired from teaching and attended Union Seminary - Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, VA.  First Presbyterian Belle Vernon is her first pastorate.
