Here at First Presbyterian, we believe that worship is the center of and the impetus for all the activities of the church.  We gather on Sunday to listen to the Word of God, to participate in the sacraments, to pray for the world, and to offer ourselves in service to God.  We are blessed with wonderful choirs and lay leaders.  Our sanctuary was recently enhanced by the addition of eight lovely liturgical banners and an Assisted Listening System.  Sunday worship is recorded and made available on CD to shut-ins and others who request it.

Communion is usually celebrated the first Sunday of each month.  Unique to First Presbyterian, and in keeping with the practice of the early church, we collect a special offering at communion that is given to address specific needs in our community.;jsessionid=9535B5DF260A09CCA2965855873D515E?id=54931888&scale=-1&size=1580826009886

We hold several special services, including weekly Morning Prayer in Advent and Lent, an Ash Wednesday service, Christmas Eve and Maundy Thursday communion, Taize services of meditation and a riverside service during the church picnic.  There are also special Advent, Lenten, and Good Friday services in conjunction with other churches in the community.

The Chancel Guild is a group of men and women who maintain the appearance of the sanctuary for worship.  They change the paraments to match the liturgical seasons, solicit donations of fresh flowers for the chancel table each week, and oversee memorial flower projects for major celebration Sundays like Christmas, Easter, and Pentecost.;jsessionid=9535B5DF260A09CCA2965855873D515E?id=87852442&scale=-1&size=1580825920776
